Ben Wins Gold In Para Snowboard Cross

NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) Ben Tudhope has won the gold medal at the FIS World Cup Para Snowboard Cross, in Grasgehren, Germany, rounding out seven podium results from seven starts. Ben has won an incredible four gold, two silver and one bronze across the seven world cups in which he has competed.

Aussies Win Bronze at World XC

NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) scholarship holders Oliver Hoare and Jessica Hull, plus Stewart McSweyn and Abbey Caldwell won a bronze medal in the mixed 4x2km relay team at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Bathurst, leading from the front as the world’s best runners battled both the terrain and conditions in an instant classic down under.

Paddlers On Fire at Nationals

NSWIS paddler Jessica Fox has proved why she is considered the greatest canoe slalom paddler of all time on day three of competition at the 2023 Australian Open, winning the Australian Open canoe title plus a win in the kayak cross. NSWIS scholarship holder Riley Fitzsimmons (NSW) finished third in the men’s K1 500 final, first in the K4 500 team on day one and second with fellow NSWIS scholarship holder Jackson Collins in the K2 500 while NSWIS scholarship holder Dylan Littlehales finished first in the men’s K1 200 multi-class.

Hockeyroos Play Out Six Goal Thriller

The Hockeyroos including NSWIS scholarship holders Kaitlin Nobbs, Jocelyn Bartram, Mariah Williams, Grace Stewart, Courtney Schnoell, Zoe Newman and Maddy Smith, have wrapped up their Sydney leg of the FIH Pro League 2022-23 Season with an entertaining 3-3 draw against Germany. Meanwhile, Kyra Livermore, daughter of Olympic gold medallist and NSWIS men’s hockey head coach, Brent Livermore, has debuted for Australia.
