Swifts on the board

The NSW Swifts secured their first victory of the new Suncorp Super Netball tournament on Saturday.

The Swifts, made up completely of NSWIS athletes, ran out 54-44 winners against the Adelaide Thunderbirds.

Particularly important in the victory were shooters Sam Wallace and Helen Housby, and the whole team were driven on by a dynamo performance from Maddy Proud in the centre.

It wasn’t quite as good news for the Netball NSW Waratahs in Round 2 of the Australian Netball League, as they lost against an experienced Southern Force side.
