NSWIS cyclist Chris Sutton has taken another major step is his career by winning the 2011 Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne event in Belgium, becoming the first Australian to win the race.

The tactical race saw a number of lead changes and attacks from various teams, before Sutton and Team Sky made their presence known by making up a 14 second gap on the main breakaway.

From there Sutton held his nerve in the lead group, using his team’s perfect set up to hit the lead with 200m to go and take the victory. Sutton defeated cycling superstars Andre Greipel and Tyler Farrar to mark the most impressive win of his career thus far.
