Track cyclist John Trovas (NSWIS) locked in one of Australia’s first medals of the UCI 2019 Junior Track Cycling World Championships overnight in Frankfurt, Germany.

The NSWIS Cycling Scholarship Holder claimed silver in the Men’s Team Sprint with teammates Sam Gallagher and Carlos Carisimo. Trovas, on first wheel, led Australia out in first position over the Indian team who fought back hard to eventually take the gold a mere 0.056 of a second ahead of the Australians.

Rohan Haydon-Smith (NSWIS) will line up for Australia in tonight’s action in Frankfurt in the Men’s Scratch race.
