The Australian men’s hockey team have opened their year in style by recording two wins from two matches at the International Hockey Open.

The Kookaburras began the tournament with a 6-1 rout of Pakistan, with NSWIS athlete Matt Dawson scoring in the 48th minute before fellow NSWIS athlete Ben Craig bagged two goals in two minutes at the 51st and 53rd-minute marks.

The second match saw Australia secure a 3-0 win, with two goals coming in the first half before a third only minutes after the re-start.

The next match against Pakistan takes place on Friday night, with NSWIS athletes Tom Craig, Flynn Ogilvie and Matthew Willis joining Dawson and Ben Craig in the team.
