The National Road Series will hit the virtual world in May with Cycling Australia making use of the online cycling platform Zwift.

Set to debut on 2 May, the 2020 Cycling Australia National Racing Series on Zwift will feature six races on varying courses, with six-rider men’s and women’s NRS teams set to battle it out with their on-road rivals in the virtual reality competition.

Each round will also be live-streamed across Zwift and the NRS Facebook page and will feature live commentary and special guests.

“With these uncertain times we live in it’s hard to find the motivation to train so we are lucky to have a platform like Zwift that has really come to the rescue,” said Team BridgeLane sprinter Nick White, who boasts Australian titles on the road and in the virtual world.

“I have always been a keen Zwifter after making the finals of the Zwift Academy and then going on to winning an e-racing Australian National Championship in 2017.

“I’m looking forward to getting the series started with Team BridgeLane, especially with the likes of Ben Hill on the team who wins at least one Zwift race a day.”
