New South Wales Institute of Sport (NSWIS) athletes Keira Will and Danny Barber delivered strong performances to claim bronze medals at the 2025 UCI Track Nations Cup in Konya, Türkiye.

Will, 19, was part of the Australian Women’s Team Pursuit with Maeve Plouffe, Sophie Edwards, Claudia Marcks, and Sally Carter. The team secured a positive round time of 4:11.931 in qualifying.

In the bronze medal final against Poland, the quartet held a steady pace throughout the early stages. As gaps began to widen in the last three laps, they maintained their formation to secure third place by 1.754 seconds.

For Will, this marks her second podium finish, following her silver medal in the elite category at the 2025 Perth AusCycling Road National Championships, and gold for the under-23 criterium title back in January.

She also won silver in the Elite Women’s Team Pursuit at the 2025 Brisbane Oceania Track Cycling Championships in February.

Barber showcased top form in the Team Sprint, alongside Ryan Elliott and Leigh Hoffman. The trio delivered consistent performances, clocking 42.352 in the bronze medal final against France, 42.047 in the first round versus Canada, and 42.330 in qualifying.

The podium finish adds to Barber’s growing resume after winning gold in the Elite Men’s Team Sprint at the Oceania Championships, silver in the Elite Men’s Sprint, and bronze in the Elite Men’s Keirin.

Finally, Australia’s campaign in Türkiye was capped off with a gold medal performance in the Men’s Team Pursuit against the United States of America, clocking in 3:45.306 – the fastest of Australia’s three rides throughout the opening day of racing.
